What we do
Instruction
Our friendly team of instructors all hold British Horse Society qualifications, and are experienced in teaching at all levels giving confidence to young children and nervous riders in addition to coaching at more advanced levels for examinations or competition. Our staff are also available for breaking and producing quality young stock.
There are two all weather ménages, one Olympic size is used for teaching and many regular riders enjoy working for BHS progressive tests. Some later become career students and train with us for their BHS AI examination and pony club certificates.
Courses & Holidays
Instructional courses are held weekly and give the young rider the opportunity to ride and care for an individual pony throughout the course, giving the pleasure of owning a pony for the week.Adults often prefer to ride a variety of horses brushing up technique or attempting a different discipline of riding. Practical stable management is included in all the courses combined with instructions and hacking out (for those sufficiently competent).
Hacks
Whether you require a quiet trek or a fast ride, we have the horses to cater for all abilities. We have direct access to the bridleway running through Itchen Valley Country Park. The ride can be tailored to suit your needs. Please ask for details.
Day Course
The riders must arrive at the yard at 9.30am. They will have one-hour riding / lesson in the morning followed by one-hour stable management. In the afternoon there will also be a one hour hack out lesson.Riders are advised to bring suitable riding attire and wet weather clothing, wellington or riding boots and a packed lunch. BHS safety riding hats are provided by Gleneagles Centre.

We have stable management courses which run throughout the year for those who want to learn more about horse care and management. You can also train for your BHS and NVQ exams and ABRS progressive tests. We also run pony club tiny tots which can work towards their E test, junior D, D+, C, C+ and senior B test and pony club badges.
